MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Welcome to the first of our "member spotlights".  Check back often for more in-depth reviews of one of our NFCG members.

Bryon Wilson /

Taylorsville, UT

Our spotlight finds Bryon just returning from Zermatt, Austria where he has been in training with the US Winter Olympic team.  Bryon is not only an excellent fish carver, but one of the US hopefuls in the Winter Olympics in Vancouver BC, Canada this Winter.  We wonder how this personable and talented young carver finds time in his busy schedule for fish carving.  Not only does he find time, he is quite prolific, turning out as many or more excellent carvings as someone with much more time and experience.

As a member of the U.S Ski team, his dream of competing in the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver looks closer than ever..

While spending most of his life in Butte MT,Bryon now resides In Park City, UT.  He has excelled in athletics since age 5, paricipating in baseball (littlel league all-star) Gymnatics (state champion) and, or course, skiing.  If his schedule isn't busy enough, he is also and avid fisherman, having been introduced at age 14 days!  He ties his own flies and, along with his younger brother Brad, loves to backpack to high lakes in the Spring for a little pristine fly fishing and, when fishing drops off,  skiing on the high mountain snow fields.

Bryon graduated with honors from Butte HS in Montana, and plans to attend an Art College in Utah in pursuit of a degree in art.  For the time being however, his time is totally committed to training for the Olympics

The NFCG is proud to count this talented and award winning young man as a valued member of our organization and we are behind him 100% in his efforts to compete in the Olympics.
